Expulsion of Muslims in the North

The LTTE ordered the expulsion of over 70,000 Muslims resident in the Northern Peninsula, in October 1990. Some Muslims were given 48 hours to vacate while others were given only two hours. The expulsions began from the town of Chavakachcheri, then Kilinochchi and Mannar and finally Jaffna, on October 30th 1990.
