Fr Jim Brown Memorial School, St Peter’s Church, Alaipiddy

Father Thiruchelvam Nihal Jim Brown was the parish priest of St Philip Neri’s Church, Alaipiddy, when it was bombed by the SL Navy, on August 13 2006.

He, along with the Jaffna Magistrate, played a key role in moving the wounded to hospital. He was ‘disappeared’ along with Mr Vimalanathan, on August 20th 2006. The ‘Fr Jim Brown Memorial School’ was opened by his parents in the premises of St Peter’s Church, Alaipiddy, in 2010.
