Gamini Dissanayake Statue, Mahaweli Centre

Commemorates the UNP Presidential candidate who was killed by a woman suicide bomber as he was giving a campaign speech at Thotalanga, Colombo on October 24th 1994. Several other politicians such as Ossie Abeygunesekera, Weerasinghe Mallimarachchi and G.M. Premachandra, died with him. His statue is located in front of the Mahaweli Centre, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha.
