Jaffna University Memorials, Jaffna

The Jaffna University memorial was commissioned by the Student Union which was closely affiliated with the LTTE. It was often the site of LTTE Mahaveerar Naal celebrations at the university. The Vice Chancellor at the time, managed to stop the Sri Lanka Army from completely destroying it after the war was ended. The partially-destroyed memorial remains today.
