Premadasa Memorial(s)

President Ranasinghe Premadasa was killed by a LTTE suicide bomber, while walking in his party’s May Day Parade, on May 1st 1993. A memorial on Armour Street, Colombo 15, marks the spot where he was killed, while a large statue of him is located near the law courts in Hulftsdorf.  Commemorative events associated with his death usually take place there every May day. His statues are also located in other parts of the country.
